Monday night we stayed in Savannah, GA.... absolutely amazing city. We had a hotel room (our nicest EVER) right in the heart of the historic downtown district... within walking distance of everything we could need!! Lots of fun exploring!!

Tuesday morning, we left for Orange City/Deland/Daytona to stay with some sweet friends, The Beelers. Jeremy and Elizabeth were our small group leaders when we moved here to NC and are so dear to our hearts!! Life has changed and grown (especially numerically) since the last time we were all together. We had an incredibly encouraging, refreshing and wonderful time with them. Played some mad Farkel too, we were a tad rusty at first!! We stayed with them Tues evening and departed Wednesday afternoon for the beach!

Wednesday night we arrived in Anna Maria Island... too cute for words :) We found our little beach cottage, unloaded our stuff and went exploring. Came across a little dive of a BBQ shop (which was so yummy and eclectic) and of course had to run to Publix for some necessities :)

Thursday we hit the beach early, Bright very eager to see his "wa": that means water/beach. We spent the morning at the beach, came back in for lunch/nap, went swimming at the pool, made dinner, then went on an excursion around the island on the trolley (free.) For John and I it was for sightseeing and saving gas $... for Bright... it was a dream come true!! He had been talking about the trolley ALL DAY long :)

Friday morning I woke early to (attempt) to shell- found nothing but had a nice peaceful time on the beach while the sun was rising. We ate breakfast and hit the beach for a couple hours. Went to Publix for lunch... the best subs EVER :) Had nap time, went to some antique/decor shops, had a nice dinner on the beach, went swimming and then hit the homemade icecream house and a little beach shopping!

Saturday morning, we departed and headed through central FL on our way to Starke. We took Bright to Downtown Disney for a quick lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Then we drove thru our old part of town for reminiscing (apt, church, UCF, etc) and stopped at Jeremiahs (gelati-soft serve icecream layered with italian ice) on the way to the interstate!!

Saturday afternoon, we arrived in Starke to visit with some more sweet friends, Brian and Emily Woodall on our way back up the state. We had a great time hanging out with them, we too have grown a ton numerically since the last time we were all together. They are dear friends and the guys have been buddies since they bathed together (like 26-27 years or something crazy!) It was awesome to see how much the Lord has done throughout the decades... how much life has changed and is even sweeter than ever!! They let us invade their home until Monday afternoon. The great divide... we need more Gator fans... we are totally outnumbered with another Nole on the way!!

Monday afternoon we left for Jacksonville for a quick dinner and some time with Steven and Nathalie Potts. We had the privilege of introducing Bright to baby Katelyn... and John too!! It was amazing to see how much she has grown up, they all have, in the couple month since I was there. They are so precious and close to our hearts too :)

Tuesday we left for NC... and we were not even across the state line of FL/GA before Bright was asking for "more baby!" We all thoroughly enjoyed our vacation, feel so richly blessed for the incredible time together and very grateful for all the families who took time to love on/serve/and house us during our drives :)
So all that to say that we are back... and trying to get into the groove again!! Lots to do....

So fun! I love the picture story you gave us. I need to know how to get to Jeremiah's if it's in Orlando. That looked so yummy (almost as good as the Dole Whip I'm looking forward to partaking in). I'm glad you had such a great vacation. So guys deserve it!
