<3 Matters of the heart <3

Well, it is Friday... which is our "usual" post day, whatever that means :) I think I am attempting to catch up on blogging and keeping the peeps informed on our lives after being MIA for over three weeks!! Don't ever go away for that long unless you have to :)

For the past two days, God has really been impressing on my heart the places where I am hardened and more prone to sin. Now, I won't go into the depth & heaviness of the matter... but even in the small, trivial ways I have realized that having a 21 month (tomorrow) boy really is a vital channel through which the Lord tenderizes my soul!!

The Challenge:
1) A cat jumping up & vomiting on the kitchen table during breakfast is ??

Answer: Silly!! (he laughed so hard he choked on his oat squares)

2) The never-ending construction on our adjacent street (perpendicular and we can not avoid) is ??

Answer: Exciting!! (full of every kind "nuctn rucks" a boy could ask for)

3) Roads that "normally" you choose to avoid at school dismissal time: ??

Answer: Worth cheering about!! (more buses than he can count in jibberish (nour, ive, ix) on his two hands)

On a super adorable note: Bright has started saying "Sues Me" every time he burps, passes gas or hiccups!! It literally makes me smile ear to ear to hear him say it.... and well up with tears!!! We didnt even work with him on it.. he just started on his own!! Does it get anymore precious??

Through our own personal research a child is inclined musically by:

1) by his Daddy's genes/gift from the Lord
2) by what he was surrounded with in the womb!

This child of ours LOVES music... which is nothing new!! However, if it "drops a beat".... that kid shakes his tail feathers and goes straight ballistic :) I do, honestly, believe that he heard every beat that the boys in the classroom played for him while he was in my belly!! They used to joke about how the baby in belly would love it... and you know what, those naughty middle school boys were right. Seriously... he gravitates toward it the more rhythm it has!!

We made a HUGE decision this week, which if you have Facebook you saw me pleading with you about (no the free delivery doesn't happen in KY!!) We decided to get rid of our guest bed (a raunchy twin bed from the Seminary Share Shop four years ago-yes, it was free!!) Other than making the guys in our small group think that I am crazy (it was very funny to see their faces as they walked into the room for accountability and their "seats" were gone).... it really opened up sooo much space for storage and for a music room. John set up his keyboard/piano... and now has room to put out the drum and guitar too. It hit me a few weeks ago that Bright is more than ready to learn about instruments (his play guitar, microphone, tambourine and mirracas aren't cutting it anymore) but more than that... John has been extremely limited in his playing since Bright was born due to the switch into the house. It was a sacrifice he was willing to make for our family... and I honestly took it for granted so I could attempt to make our home look "cute".. stupid magazines!! Yeah.. Im really that selfish and my husband is really that sacrificial!! God teaches me through John even in the quiet ways that he would never mention!!

So from here on out... lets pray theres no sound ordinance on our block... cause 630 will be rocking :)

As Bright would say as he walks out the door "peese"....... Have a great weekend (you know we will... the first together in 3 years, 80 degrees and the HerbFest.... sweet!!)
