Random Moments of the Week

Brighton's new FAVORITE meal is... well.... interesting :) This week he discovered the world of Cheezits with absolute delight. So for every meal... he has asked for them.... it could be worse, he could be asking for soda or candy I guess :) So for fun the other day, I gave him some Cheezits with his broccoli, we always ate cheese on our broccoli growing up so I didn't think it was too far fetched. Then he wanted some of my 40 spice hummus that was on my plate so I put some on his... not giving the moment any thought :) Much to my surprise.... the hummus ended up mixed in with his broccoli and he starting putting it on the Cheezits... to make little sandwich bites. After the initial gagging, I decided to try some... and it honestly, was not half bad :) So today I gave him more broccoli... and he ended up with the same deliberate concoction... so I had to photograph it!! Maybe he will be a chef some day...

Here the mixing and spreading:

Here is the enjoying (note the fork.. haha)

Bright's new obsession is his Mr. Happy tshirt... he has LOVED it, LOVED it since the moment he laid eyes on it at the store. It had been hanging out on the recliner for a couple days because he would drag it around the house and talk to it saying "happy happy." Well, last night.... was the BIG ONE!! After we "attempted" to eat dinner (thats another teething toddler story for another day!!) I put the Mr. Happy shirt on Brighton.... he ran around the house for quite a while looking down at his belly, pointing and saying "HAppY!!" Who knew that an 18 month old could be so attached to an item of clothing... its too cute for words and most days... it is a fitting shirt for our Mr. Happy :)

Here he is caught in the middle of this action:

OUR BIG ACHIEVEMENT:

Bright went tinkle on the potty on Tuesday!! Whoo hoo :) Totally of his prompting too... as he had squatted in the family room so I assumed he was going potty. So I said, "Bright, are you going potty?" He immediately jumped to his toes and ran to the potty... so obviously going off his initiation, I stripped him down and held him on the potty. I told him to push, thinking he had to do #2 and sure enough... he went tinkle :)

Yesterday (Wednesday) he had no interest... and I honestly wouldn't expect him to at 18 months so we went on with our day!!

Today (Thursday morning) we finished eating an early lunch and I said to him "Bright, lets go potty and then we will get you ready for bed." So he ran into his bathroom... then turn around and ran to ours... then turned around and ran to his. So I waited a second to get the lid up and such... took too long stripping him down... and he tinkled as I pulled off his diaper. So close.... so very close :) Mommy learned a valuable lesson... no dilly dallying!!

And a photo of our new bedding (christmas present)... for all of you who have been asking about it :) Yeah, we reverted back to blues...
