**Sunday night, our recent addition to the small group, 2 week old Micah, was taken to the ER. I spent the night with their family's toddler and answered phone calls from their extended family who was concerned for this sweet little boy. He was diagnosed with a virus which was was a praise but continues to have bouts of vomitting and spitting up. We are praising God that he was born so big and with some chunk, because that has certainly helped carry him through this sickness!!
**Monday, Melissa, a girl from our small group and church here who recently moved to AL to teach, was in a terrible car accident. She was trapped for quite some time, removed by the jaws of life and flown to a trauma center with her bones protruding from her arms/legs, a ruptured spleen, lacerated liver, etc. She spent Monday afternoon/evening in surgery and came out having seizures. I was greeted with an email by her neighbor in AL whom Ive never met, but on Tues morning at 1230a he felt burdened to contact me to ask us to pray!! We praise God that Melissa was taken off the ventilator Tues night and breathed on her own, also attempting to communicate. As of today, she is still in ICU but conscious and able to talk about the accident and ask about people. God certainly has protected her and has a mighty plan for her to be here through all of this!! Praise God for His precise protection and His healing hand!! He is already using this situation to draw folks to Himself!!
**Tues afternoon Grammy flew in to visit... couldnt come at a better time!!
**Wednesday morning, our dear sweet friends the Vermilyeas moved to Georgia. John has known Kim since highschool and shes been a sweet part of my life since 1998. John and I met her husband in Orlando and they interned together at church. Theyve been here at Seminary with us since 2 months after we moved down. We praise God for the sweet times weve had together over the past few years and especially since the birth of their daughter, Caroline, in May. We've had lots of days and mornings together talking and playing babies!! We are super excited to see all that the Lord has instore for this new leg of their journey and their ministry in Senoya. It was very hard though to say "goodbye" knowing that we will probably never live in the same town again :(
**This afternoon, Thursday, a dear brother of ours (Brett) in the small group, has been admitted to the ER for severe pain and dehydration in relation to a pancreatitis. He is on IV medication and fluids. We are praising God that his levels are not extreme but are praying that his pain would be tolerable, that he would not form an infection and that his body would continue to absorb fluids especially with the nausea subsiding.
This week John had had several papers due and presentations... with more preaching and papers coming in the weeks ahead. How thankful we are that the Lord provides and redeems time and for the opportunities we've had to be on our knees this week... thanking Him for His faithfulness and care of His children and the blessing it is to be stewards of all that He has bestowed into our lives!!
On a lighter note, Grammy, Bright and I went the mall today and let Brighton play in the kiddy area for the first time. Yes, we disinfected him after the trip. He was so ecstatic to run around, climb all he wanted, slide in every direction and interact with kids of all ages!! Absolutely too precious!! And what a trooper he was... never fussed for a second and we got lots of shopping done (via giftcards that weve been storing up for a rainy day!!!) Heres some pics of his fun times and also the absolutely cutest outfit that was 50% at Macys ($25 for cord pants, a cord blazer, white button down and sweater vest!!) What a handsome boy he is and I cant wait to dress him up in it.. even though itll get dirty and full of junk!!
