Let's see.. the past couple weeks of of November: We moved out and in turn moved in, went to Gatlinburg with the youth and college, had a wonderful Thanksgiving, battled (still battling) our round of the family illness (John->Bright->Mommy-> Grammy!) and had the Cornelison's visit from NC!! One very exciting event for Bright was his first bonfire experiences... he is getting quite adventurous in the woods and a pro at roasting marsh mellows. Grammy came and watched Bright for us while we went out of town and then stayed through the Thanksgiving holiday... like always, we made HUGE progress on the house and had our share of fun too :)
Bright is quite a little singer now... and says some of the most random phrases :) He and Daddy work on all sorts of songs and every time it blows me away. His current saying is "You are not alone, God is always with you." He learned this from watching a movie called Webster, the Scaredy Spider. Its always amazing to me when our two year old tells us the promises of God... and sometimes right when we need to hear them most. Bright is still growing and eating like its nobodies business... we can hardly keep up with him these days in clothes... I really think he is growing as much as he did in the first 6 months of his life!!
We went to our first Savannah Christmas Parade this past Monday night (and it was 34 degrees... burr!!) Bright was hilarious as he sat on John's shoulders for most of the event. He loved seeing all the fire trucks, tractors but his favorite part was the waving ice cream cone from Dairy Queen... he must of reminded us 50 times before bed that night that the ice cream cone waved at him and said hi. Oh the mind of a 2 year old boy... he really does make us laugh CONSTANTLY :) We had our first snow that day... but unfortunately it was nothing to write home about, lots of flakes and no accumulation.
This weekend Grandma and Granddaddy Sellers are coming to visit and we are hoping to get our Christmas tree... maybe even venture to the place where you hike out and cut them down ourselves. Ill keep you posted :) We are looking forward to Christmas on the River this weekend also... candle lined streets, horse drawn carriages and trolley rides, etc.
Baby Sister as Bright kindly refers to her now... is growing and growing and growing!! She is approx 8.5 inches long (crown to rump).. so not including her leg length, 1.5 lbs and will be averaging 6 oz a week for a while!! She definitely knows Bright's and Daddy's voices and loves to squirm at music. We are 24 weeks this week and had our check up at the dr... it took the dr 5-10 mins to pin point our little lady's heart rate to get a read... she was ALL over the place... it was actually quite amusing :) We go back on Jan 6th for our next appt... the glucose test (blah!) and a FREE 4D ultrasound :) Thats worth starving myself for 3 hours and drinking the nastiest version of Tang ever!! We've been narrowing down ideas for her nursery (brown, light green and a bit of pink,) picked through the very small amount of neutral clothes from Bright and are starting quite a stash of little clothing and bedding... we are planning on a premie this time (not a 10 lber!)
The best news of all: we have our communication back (thank you Charter cable!!) so hopefully we will be a little more regular on the blog scene and keeping up with pictures especially with Christmas quickly approaching!!
