Ice Cream, July 4th, Field Trips, 2 Years Old, Life Today, Meditation Location and A Sweet Worship Song!!

In Chronological Order because I have been slack:

Bright has now successfully eaten 2 ice cream cones (on his own) from Dairy Queen. Heres a pic of when we got back home.. yes, we let him eat in the car seat :) What a difference from this time last year... when we tried to avoid "naughty" foods and big messes!!

The 2nd Annual July 4th in Panama City with the Sellers/Lewis Family was wonderful!! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there with everyone... even teaching them our NC tradition of Farkel :) Bright was extremely loved and spoiled like usual...a blessing :) The Lewis' husselled us in two rounds of bowling.. Grandma and Granddaddy watched Bright and all us kids went to play!! We had lots of fun at the beach and Bright really enjoyed the pool in the backyard too!! There was lots of down time and shopping time and some wonderful food/fireworks!! Such a blessing :)

Some dear friends of ours, along with Bright and I headed to the Science Museum in downtown Raleigh. It was a great experience... so educational and fascinating!! What a great learning tool and outing for a day... time flew by and Bright spent most of the morning so excited :) The classroom hour was "Meeting Snakes" so the kids loved hearing the story and petting all the snakes!! One of Bright's favorite things (other than the dinosaurs and bees) was the huge jaw of a shark below... it blew my mind as we strolled up to it and he shouted "big bite!"... the kid has never seen anything like that before but he related that it was a mouth and teeth!!

The weekend of July 11th thru July 13th... we headed to Savannah, TN where John accepted the call and position of Associate Pastor of Education and Students. We were graciously welcomed with open arms to Mt Hermon Baptist Church. The only congregational concern was that we were Gator fans... John clarified and said that he is a UCF fan and that Bright & I are the Gator fans!! I did share with the body that I do own a UT shirt and wear it fairly regularly... so they said that was ok then :) Needless to say... it has been non stop since we touched down from TN two Sundays ago. We are in the prayerful process of possibly buying a house, packing up and preparing many things here, starting things there and awaiting our time to go!! It will be a very difficult goodbye to all who reside here in Wake Forest... this has been our home for 4 of our 5 years of marriage!! How thankful for the amazing time of equipping and growing in the Lord!! We will keep you posted as things begin to transition and we start to narrow down a move date.. for now we are shooting for the end of August (1 month or less!!)

Grammy and & Gramps arrived within a few days of our return from TN for Bright's big birthday party extravaganza... #2!! We opened family presents that morning, ate breakfast and then headed out!! So fun that it fell on a Saturday (July 19th) and we had a beautiful morning at Blue Jay Point Park!! The kids got super sweaty and dirty (playground/lake/sand pit) and ate like it was going out of style.... the perfect way to celebrate #2 :) Later that afternoon, Bright opened his birthday presents via webcam with Grandma and Granddaddy!! This boy has plenty of choo choos, trucks, cars and a wagon, tricycle and shopping cart!! Here are some fun pictures of our time at the park during the party...

Brighton Wade had his 2 year appt today! He is 30.6 lbs (75%) and 36 1/4 inches long (95%). He is communicating on target and a little advanced in motor skills for his age. The dr said that he is appearing to be growing out of the ear infections and need for breathing treatments... which blessed my heart!! Bright took his shot like a man... and told the ENTIRE world about his boo boo and his sticker!! We were very sad to say goodbye to Dr Ryan today... I did ask him and the front desk staff if they would consider moving to TN for us... only 2 takers. (I asked my OB the same ? on Monday afternoon and they declined also!!) If you reside in Raleigh or Wake Forest and are looking for a Pediatrician.... Capital Pediatrics.... theres not a better office :) We have been truly blessed and more than satisfied for our 2 years with them!!

Bright has left us speechless these past few weeks at the rate he is learning... RAPIDLY. He officially knows ALL of his letters... and can pick them out in random order too. He is learning to identify small words and picks out letters on signs, shirts and anything that is around us. Numerically, he loves to skip 3 & 4 and with colors he is still obsessed with blue... when he is in the mood to cooperate he can identify LOTS of numbers and colors.... but like I said... when he is in the mood :) He is already such a tricky thing and loves to joke like he doesnt know them... he will give a wrong answer and then giggle... so much like his daddy.. it scares me :) He is starting to put long sentences together too. He has been going VERY long periods without wetting and has been super successful on the potty lately. He made most of our recent plane flights without wetting and throughout the days since we have been home.... mommy is very happy to only use 2-3 diapers a day :)

And every day... he is that much more BOY!! We love him to pieces :)

Psalm 16

1Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. 2I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you."
3As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,
in whom is all my delight.[b]

4The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply;
their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names on my lips.

5The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6(I) The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.

7I bless the LORD who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.[d]
8 I have set the LORD always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

9Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
10For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,
or let your holy one see corruption.

11You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
