While Grammy was here we went on MANY adventures and started A LOT of projects!! Bright is at such a wonderful age to enjoy the world around him outside and also be helpful/keep himself busy when there is a task to do :)
We went to Sarah P Duke Gardens on Duke's campus last week... as always, it was so beautiful!! This was Bright's first visit I believe and he LOVED it. So much so that we rarely got a picture of him looking at the camera because he was so intrigued at everything around him.

We also got motivated around the front yard and let Bright get down right DIRTY a few of the afternoons that were amazing themselves (sunny, light breeze and 75!!) We planted and transplanted lots of flowers, landscaped an herb garden, mulched, put in (attempted to) white garden fencing, etc. The pics do it no justice so feel free to make a drive by :)

We also had lots of colorful and wonderful surprises for Mother's Day from John, Bright and Gramps.
John and Bright made me an adorable stepping stone....

... as well as a book on raising up boys and a cookbook on how to hide healthy foods in every day meals (both much needed!)
Gramps sent us some beautiful roses too... and we actually got them on the same day we went to the gardens.... and Bright remembered seeing a "bee" on the roses there so every time we ate... he pointed to the roses and told us about the "bees."

I am so richly and abundantly blessed to have such an amazing family... it is truly humbling to be loved and appreciated this much!! As for being a mommy and a wife... it is honestly the best job in the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything!!
I am one blessed gal :)
