The Update:
Brighton Wade is a sponge (just like his daddy!!) He is learning so rapidly now... he knows many of his and other's body parts, loves to read book after book (his favorites right now are his different bible story books), repeats just about anything you say (yikes!) and is learning to speak in choppy phrases!! Communicating has gotten MUCH easier in the past week which is a blessing... now, its not perfect but we are understanding one another in English which is progress :) He is learning to differentiate in what he wants as to specifics (certain foods, drinks, books, objects, etc). He is also very good at mimicking sounds... yesterday at Target it was the noise of the cart backing up (beep beep beep), then a boy making a choo choo sound, babies crying and children yelling... humorous yes, embarassing too :)
Bright is doing very well with three to four step directives and is such a BIG helper now. Hes all about cleaning up, washing dishes, helping make the meals, laundry, putting his toys away, brushing his teeth and much more :)
Bright is cautious and has a good understanding of the word "hot"... he can tell you that the oven is hot, candles are hot, food that smokes is hot, the fireplace, light bulbs.. so on and so forth. We are very thankful that he picked this up so easily so we have not had any accidents so far!
Bright is still an excellent eater and drinker.... he doesn't seem to mind the healthy diet that makes up his day but then again he loves to sneak some treats too!! He is very skillful with his utensils now and drinking out of a glass with no lid.
Bright is a skilled climber and has about mastered going up the stairs holding onto the railing instead of climbing.... he also goes down accurately on his behind which is a blessing too!! So far, he hasn't climbed outta bed... we're just waiting for that day!!
Bright's latest adventure is learning to jump... jump down, jump up and jump on!! He is still rather reserved and cautious but incredibly curious about his new found talent and abilities.
Bright is very wrapped up in the world of transportation... both their make and their sound (cars, trucks, firetrucks, construction trucks, choo choo trains, airplanes, etc and ALL of their noises!!)
Bright is in LOVE with music... has started singing on his own, doing hand motions, playing his instruments and singing into his microphone and dancing, dancing and dancing!!
Bright adores all kinds of animals both alive and in books... and he is also fascinated by the alphabet and numbers too. He is getting very good at and interested in puzzles ad shapes too.
As much as Bright loves and needs his mommy, Daddy has officially become the main event of every day.. and rightfully so. About 5:30p every evening (when the sun goes down) Bright starts checking the front window for Daddy and knows as soon as he sees his lights at the top of the hill.... you've never seen such excitement in the boys face every night that his Daddy comes home... it truly is priceless.. the squeal and dance can't help but make you chuckle :)
Bright's favorite games right now are chase/tag, tickles, piggies and playing ball... he has an strong arm and quite a powerful kick... the objects in our home are no longer safe!!
Bright has become very interactive with other children... he is learning to play well and to give hugs/kisses to his little ladies :) He loves the sound of children's voices and his eyes are glued to them whenever we are out and about. Bright also LOVES babies.. he is absolutely amazed by them and is constantly wanting to help and see the ones that are around us. Some day he will be a wonderful big brother!!
We go in for his 18 month check up on Monday.. so stay tuned for those measurements. Last week he was below his 15 month weight after being so sick but we know for sure that he has put on a few inches since our last appointment... he is insanely tall now and prone to touching a whole new world of items :) We've also been attempting to put some junk in his trunk since he's been healthy again... pork em up good :)
We are also hoping to celebrate 18 months with some snow fall this afternoon/evening.. we will certainly keep you posted and will put up some pics for all you Floridians to enjoy :)
Love to you all....
