A week of changes and silliness :)

This blog is going to be random... so bare with "us"!!

Brighton This Week
* learned to spin himself in a circle (hes even prouder than when he learned to walk backwards!)

* started saying "bite" and signing please when he wants some of what we've got!
* is getting chunky again (which means all this sleep yesterday and today... well, here comes another growth spurt-- will this now put him in the 105% for height.. theres not such a thing!)
* climbed up on the couch without any help or stepping object (so glad we got tall ones before we got married!)
* realized he can push his infamous hat box to the kitchen sink and reach the items in the drainer

* started "talking" in all these new sounds and with such intensity.. he is telling us something very dramatic!
* began LOVING to drink orange juice
*pretends to surf on his dump truck

Funniest Moment This Week
*Was actually something that Brighton had done earlier in October when our dear friends (the Vermilyeas) were making to move to GA. One day while we were over packing, Brighton took off his sock and put it somewhere. So we searched and searched, eventually assuming it got packed in one of the boxes that we had taped up. Another day that we were over helping, we had Brighton and Caroline corraled in the nursery so that Ryan and Kim's dad could get the furniture moved to the truck safely. Bright was eating his cheerios and had placed them, without our knowing, into Carolines exersaucer's toy hole.

When the Vermilyeas arrived in GA and started unpacking... there they find Brightons dirty sock in a box of wrapped breakables I assume and as they start to put the exersaucer together, out fall all of Brightons cheerio crumbs and pieces... remember this the first of our knowing of the cheerios.

So how does this play into this week: we get a small envelope in the mail yesterday from Caroline. As John hands me the stack of mail (most bills of course) I notice this sand like stuff all over and think to myself "what in the world!!" In WPB or PC this would be normal... knowing its from the beach. So I dont think anything of it again. I open the envelope to get out Brightons sock and what is in there??.... his cheerio crumbs. I laughed so hard I was crying, knowing that it had almost been a month since they first found the cheerio crumbs. Then I started wondering if the mail man thought it was strange that there was "sand" all over when you touch our stack of mail.

Anyway, it was definitely the most random and silly thing Ive ever received in the mail :)

Update On The Cold Weather

This week we got down into the 20's so this means that the Christmas cactus and other plants must come in or be covered... thus affecting the arrangement of our decorative items to make room. Of course, plants go up higher than where Mr. Brighton can reach now... so this limits our options compared to an immobile infant last year. I decide to empty the basket from our wedding of the flower petals and set it on the floor in the middle of the kitchen as we are cleaning and arranging. So who comes running over as fast as lightning as if there were a mouse to chase... that would be Benson. From that moment on, the basket is now claimed as "beaner's bed." The beautiful thing about this randomness (he sleeps in it every night now since hes inside for the winter usually he sleeps on the back porch at night cause hes a "night owl") is he finds his basket so comfy that I no longer have to get up between 530-600a to let him go potty. Yes, our cat asks to go outside to the litter box to potty... we are very blessed that we dont have to keep the box in the house... but its a pain to get up early to let him out :)
