Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

This morning we took our family adventure to get the Christmas tree. We only had one worship service so this provided a wonderful window to do this in the daylight hours as a family before John had to go to work!! This year, world record timing, helped by the rain and toddler I am sure. Second or third tree we looked at... was a keeper :)

So we got her trimmed up and netted.. grabbed some lunch and made our journey home!! Documented by scrapbooking Grammy of course :)

When we arrived home.. we found a Benson on the front porch!! Laying across the door mat as if he belonged there. So we all began debating as to who it was that let him slip out before we left. No one remembered him escaping from the house (how could we blame him though for trying with two dogs inside!!) As soon as he saw the Ol' Jimmy pull into the driveway... Benson ran faster than any chubby kitty youve seen... impressively fast. Diving off the porch between the slats, sprinting around the side of the house and into the backyard as if he realized he was busted but was going to attempt to "disappear." So we got inside and as I went to the kitchen to grab a few things to bring the tree in... who is on the back porch, totally screened in and door closed. Yep, you guessed it.... BENSON. I started laughing so hard... it was as if he were a teenager busted for sneaking out but in his mind of "immortality" he deliberately slipped back into his room out of breath and dirty. Needless to say, he had pushed a small hole in the screen and scooted out the door while we were gone!!

After the usual comical act of getting the tree straight and screwed into place... John and Brighton went to the other side of the house to play. Bright would come out periodically with toys sticking out of his pants or something to make Grammy and I giggle... planted by John of course. After about 20 mins of Brighton remaining in the living room... I got suspicious and wondered if my sleepy husband had dozed off on the floor or if he was working on another sermon now. I peaked into Bright's room and what did I find?

Thats right.... John Jay Sellers in the crib... again... I started laughing hysterically!! This is the stuff that until we've approached graduation... Daddy didnt have the strength, silliness or time to be like such!! As random as this is... this is John... the perfect portrait of the soon to be "Pastor" and one of the many reasons he captured my heart so many years ago!!

Hope all this made you smile as it did for us today :)

Be blessed!!

Please stay tuned for the finished photos... once the branches drop and we are fully decorated :)
