Christmas Eve lead to our first injury of the trip.... Bright decided to stick his finger in a lit candle!! We documented it for you on Johns iPhone after our return from Christmas Eve service and a little get together with sweet friends!! He did not cry... simply pulled his finger out and said "Fire is hot... ouch... boo boo!!" Such a boy!!

Our Christmas vacation was indeed a wonderful time spent with dear friends and family!!
Christmas morning we celebrated with just our family and Bright opened his two gifts...

Bright was very intrigued again by opening gifts this year... but I have to say that the most priceless moment of Christmas morning was my husband's face as I was reading a note to him from some family... explaining that many of them were pitching in to get him his flat screen tv!! He was video taping us while I was reading it.. so of course, I am the only witness to his look of excitement and shock at the moment he realized I had made a conspiracy against him :) It was like watching two children on Christmas morning... priceless, absolutely priceless!!
That afternoon, we had a little Happy Birthday Jesus party...

We had a very nice time in Virginia Beach with all of the Sellers' family!! We celebrated Christmas again that Saturday morning at Great Grandma and Great Granddaddy's house!! Bright went to town opening gifts... and he was so fast that he even opened some of Grandma Vicki's before we realized it :) Here are two shots of that morning and yes, they do sell Farkle at Target now!! The world is a better place because of it... and yes, we will teach you to play some day!!

Here is a picture of our family relaxing at the beach house... yes, I am eating ice cream and yes, she is big enough to rest a bowl on now and yes, Bright does have pants on :)

Sunday morning we went to Great Grandma and Great Granddaddy's church with the family. Bright scored injury #2 of the trip... fell, bit through his bottom lip, bruised and ruptured some blood vessels in his top lip!! This picture definitely catches the swolleness but not the blood... it was after we had changed his clothes and tried to get out of the blood stains!! We had a great lunch at John's aunt and uncles house afterwards, Bright (acting like nothing happened) took a road trip with his 2nd cousin down the strip and of course, had to play a little soccer!! Seriously, check out his form.... Mommy was so proud :)

Another day we were there... we took a trip to the local Aquarium!! Bright was in heaven!! Not only did he see all kinds of amazing animals... he went to his first movie (Whales and Dolphins in 3D Imax!!) He made it through the hour + film... was not too sure what to think of them swimming "at him" but was quite a trooper!! Here are some pics from that trip..and a profile of my HUGE pregnant belly at 28 weeks (really this picture does her NO justice!) and us grown up kids checking out the winter/summer wave maker... actually quite fascinating!!

After 12 days on the road we were all very glad to arrive home on Jan 2nd... pondering all the amazing opportunities and blessings the Lord had bestowed upon us in 2008!!

Unfortunately, while we were gone we were not able to get Shaggy-locks a trim job... so yesterday after church (and 3 attempts today) we cut his hair at home... with a scissors!! I must admit... he really is such a good boy :) And like every time since his first hair cut... it made me cry because he does look so grown up!! Don't worry... the shaggy frat boy do' will return before you know it!!

Baby girl is growing more rapidly every day.. as am I.. ha!! Tomorrow we will be 29 weeks... and who knows (well, God does)... that could mean only 9 weeks to go if she comes around the time Bright did. She is approximately 3 lbs and 16.5 inches long. She can blink, cough, intensely suck, breathe better. Tomorrow we also go in for our glucose test and as a reward, a FREE 4-D ultrasound... Id drink that stuff any day to do that. So I must admit, we are looking forward to tomorrow's visit and letting Bright see his baby sister for the first time :)
We are looking forward to getting to work on her nursery which we will be painting espresso (brown)... and also redoing Bright's old changing table from fire engine red to white (yes, the treasure from the Raleigh flea market many many moons ago before we even contemplated babies or before God revealed to us His plan for our family!!) Here is a link to her bedding that Grammy and Grandma purchased: http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/fd2660/index.cfm?pkey=cgirls%2Dnursery%2Dbedding%7Cb
Here is a link to her bed which we are currently saving for: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3012851 (Bright will be transitioning in his to a double bed here before she arrives.)
The precious ladies here in Savannah have decided in the last couple days to throw us a "Sprinkle" this weekend coming as my mom will be visiting (and possibly her last visit before baby girl arrives!!) We are so blessed by the Body both here and all over!! We registered for more practical items yesterday online (which is amazing that you can do that and amazing how much things have changed since we registered for Bright 3 years ago!)
Some fun fabrics I picked up at Hobby Lobby (which by the way, if you haven't been to one... man, you are missing out!!) I got polkadots and flowers to make some sun dresses and two quilt fabrics to make baby blankets out of. So precious!!

It is fun doing this different this time around... more home made and some fun hand me downs :) Between moms and I, we have made several blankets, boppy covers, all of her burp cloths and I am currently hunting for the perfect fabric to make another wrap out of (stretchy, supportive enough for a premie and cool enough for summer!!) If you aren't well read on baby wearing or wraps in general and are interested in some information, please don't hesitate to ask :)

Jersey knit! that's what I used for B's wrap b/c I couldn't find the ribbed kind like your wrap - it works GREAT in summer!!!!
I'd send it to you, but I've only found Carolina Blue ;-)
I miss you! You & your beautiful family are in my prayers daily :)
