This was our attempt at a family photo on Christmas Eve... Bright was not interested in being an active participant but as soon as Grammy tried to take one of Mommy and Daddy... the silly little guy jumped right in front and gave the biggest smile!! (You can see us posing in the background if you look carefully, as if we would be seen!)
The past 15 days have been wonderfully insane, a rich blessing yet non stop!!
On the 14th, John graduated from Seminary (we filled an entire pew with family!)
On the 16th, we celebrated Christmas morning with Johns family.
On the 18th, we celebrated Grandma and Gramps birthdays.
On the 19th, Bright, Grammy and I flew to S Florida where Gramps picked us up.
On the 20th, we saw a play at Grammy's Elementary school, visited friends and took Gramps out for a belated birthday dinner.
On the 21st, we visited more friends and family.
On the 22nd, we saw Aunt Amy and Daddy arrived in S Florida.
On the 23rd, we went swimming and Bright met his Great Grandpa Croft.
On the 24th, we visited with Mommy's friends and their babies, hung out with Uncle Eric and went to Christmas Eve Children's Service (glow sticks instead of candles... great idea!!)
On the 25th, Christmas morning, the whole family was there to have the family devotional/light the Christ candle, eat breakfast, open presents... it was the longest family morning recorded ever for us!! Then we visited Gramp's side of the family and ended the night with some DELICIOUS S Florida/Croft family tradition... Gramp's Shrimp Scampi and John's Key Lime Pie... the BEST!!
On the 26th, Bright had his first trip to the zoo (which was SOOO FUN!!) and that evening we celebrated Christmas with John's sister, parents, her husband and his parents!!
On the morning of the 27th we ran last minute errands, attempted to pack everything into 4 suitcases and 4 carry ons (we were not successful!) and then we flew to Tampa and onto NC. We arrived home at 1230a on the 28th due to some major flight delays and layovers!!
(oh and ps-- I left out a lot of things in the long list above!!)
Needless to say... Bright went to bed at 1245a and slept till 1245p yesterday (the 28th).... he was up till 640p (only 6 hours yesterday) where he promptly and excitedly went to bed and is slept till 1030a this morning when I woke him up (the 29th)... thats A LOT of catching up to do :)
Heres a pic of Bright from our trip to the zoo....

He loved ALL the animals and seeing so many new things. He was just the right age to enjoy it all. I don't think he has ever been so quiet, taking in all of his surroundings... then all the sudden he'd burst out with excitement!! So precious :) He even rode a carousel for the first time... a little cautious at first but after Daddy's reassurance, he had a blast!! And if you ask him to make the sound of a howler monkey... he is a total professional :)
Here's a pic of us wasting time at the Tampa airport (a lot of time to spend on the play ground... whoever decided to put this in deserves a million dollars... it was a LIFE saver to a 17th month old!!)

And these are for all of you are coming looking for photos of parents and not babies... just kidding... well, kinda :) You dont come here looking for us... and thats ok!!
Having fun the day of graduation... celebrating!!

And the Christmas Eve pic that Bright didn't steal the show for....

We are beyond blessed by all the people that the Lord has placed in our lives to love our ENTIRE family so well... it is truly humbling and sweetly encouraging!! Thank you for being a part of our lives, for your love, prayer and support!!
to Him be all the glory....
Now lets get ready for 2008..... a year of what? Only He knows... but we are so excited to find out!!

Looks like ya'll had a wonderful Christmas! Too true about the realities of how life changes after a child is born. It's completely different, but fun at the same time!
